Culinary Conundrum

A questions for faithful readers and the world wide web:

Is it better to completely clean the kitchen before you start cooking or after you are finished? I feel as though cleaning first gives you a clean slate, while cleaning after leaves you with a clean kitchen and feelings of completeness.

In all my culinary exercises, I've never figure this out and would appreciate your thoughts.

  1. i clean as i cook. so, i like to wipe the counters and stove before i cook and then continue as i cook. makes it better after.

  2. Oh goodness, this might be the question that ends my newly formed marriage (I KID)! I say after, because it is hard not to make a huge mess, and no one wants to walk in the kitchen later and step on a piece of garlic skin. But some people (who shall remain nameless but whose last name is also a weapon)forget that cleaning the kitchen is a step in cooking! And that is a conundrum indeed.
